A festival or typical day in Portland?

If you guessed a typical day, you are correct. This was a Saturday but I know it's like this daily in downtown Portland. Even though I have lived here for nearly a year....wow! A year...that is crazy to think after years and years of planning and waiting and hoping to live here I finally did it. Ok sorry that was my inner self talking, back to the blog. Hehe! As I was saying, even though I have lived here for nearly a year and I still think, as I take the MAX into downtown, is it going to be busy today? Even on the rainist day it is busy. So this video is of Pioneer Square, which is a stadium like setting as you can see where people come to hang out and drink their drink of choice from the nearby Starbucks. There always is a game of chess going on as well as a flowing waterfall below the Starbucks. This Saturday it looks like some people got together to swing dance (and you might be thinking...this looks like a swing dancing festival to me! But if that is the case, there is a festival every Saturday in Portland) So enjoy the video...see, they're getting better!

What I do on my Friday nights

I had to do an assignment a couple months ago to communicate with Deaf people so I picked to go to Starbucks and it was so fun that I have decided to go more often. This video was from this past Friday and I think I am getting better although I am still shy to sign in front of Deaf people because I don't want to look like a dork. But I absolutely LOVE sign language I can not wait until I am really good at signing! Just so you all know, I don't know any of these people but they are regulars so who knows, maybe I'll hang out with them one day! The lady in the plaid jacket is awesome she is hilarious! Although I didn't get the best video of her signing since she didn't sign in this video I wish she would have because her facial expressions are great!

Seriously the cutest dog ever!

This is my friend Shari's dog. I am not a huge fan of dogs mainly because they usually stink and lick you after licking their own behind. But Lexie is a dog of a different kind, she is seriously the cleanest dog ever! I want to move into their house just so I can play tug of war with her more often. Anyway, Lexie is very fashionable too, as you might can see she has a lot of streaks in her fur and is very well behaved! hehe. She just lost her pal, Bianca, who moved out so she is a little down in the dumps. I hope Shari gets her a new pal to hang with!

On the Max to Portland

This is how I get across the Willamette into Portland. I usually take the Max because I haven't had the guts to drive into Portland yet. One day I will but until then I will stick with taking the Max. It is always a fun ride the Max because you usually see some crazy people. I quite enjoy going into Portland to see what new things are happening...and there always ARE things happening. I love this city it is fun and weird, just like me! I will get more vids up soon.

P.S. The bridge I am going across is called the Steel Bridge and the bridge I zoom in on is the Burnside Bridge. I know, it isn't the greatest video. But give me a break it's my first video...they'll get better!

What I eat when in Portland

Mmmmmm.....makes me want more just looking at it. This is seriously the best tofu ever. I even used chop sticks!
