Lacamas Lake

How beautiful and green these two photos are!! When people wonder why I put up with my allergies here....well this is the reason. I haven't even touched the surface of what there is to do here.

You're not going to run me over!

Cute story, I thought:

I was walking back to the train in Portland today and as I was walking I saw these three lanes of traffic just all the sudden stop in their tracks. I looked ahead and saw two pigeons on the road just walking back and forth in one of the lanes. One thing you do not do in Portland is hurt any animal or you will be hanged by your toe nails (as my dad likes to refere it) So these pigeons are just walking around and finally the driver gets impatient and just starts to drive and the pigeons quickly walk to the second lane and begin to just walk back and forth. Meanwhile I am laughing my head off because I figured out they are just bugging the people in the cars, they knew exactly what they were doing!! So the second lane driver gets angry and starts to drive over them and the pigeons quickly run to the next lane again!!! The same thing happens AGAIN in the third lane!!! My gosh this was hilarious to watch. So finally the pigeons fly off and go to the sidewalk. I just thought that was so funny how the birds KNOW we won't hurt them!!

Lord, I want you to remember this story when you are racing your pigeons. They are SMART!!

We all live in a yellow submarine!!

This is a float that I helped put together. All the floats have to be made out of live plants, flowers etc. (except for the structure of course) See the yellow on the submarine? That is made from Straw flowers, these are real flowers but feel like straw, I cut all the pedals off these flowers and stuck them on the submarine. It was a pretty cool float.

What I've been up to...

So I've been busy...very busy. I actually have friends now! Guy friends! Friends that actually WANT to hang out with me. They are normal human beings that don't care about what your size is or what color or style your hair is. They don't care who YOU know or what YOU can get for them. Just regular people who want to have someone to talk to also. Those of you who know me, know why I go on this rant about friends. No need to explain.

I went to the Portland GRAND Rose Festival on Saturday which was so fun seeing the alpacas and horses that almost bucked a woman off it's back! I was able to snag a tour of the USS Bunker Hill, which is a very cool military ship. I never thought I'd say this but men in military uniforms are hot! hehe. The tour took us up and down a lot of ladders that were almost vertical and scared the crap out of me! Not only were they almost straight up and down, the steps were small and WET! Slippery. Very, very slippery. I thought I was going to break my leg or worse. But it was worth it being able to see the neat stuff they do. I was able to see a military bird (that is military lingo for helicopter hahaha!) I took pictures but they were just regular old 'take 'em to the lab to develop' kind so I don't have them yet.

Well that is pretty much it. I will do something fun again and be back to tell you all about it! :)
